I think it's fitting for my first post ever to talk about my most prized possession...and I don't even have it yet. July 19, 2009 I will be in Rosemont, IL to meet arguably the greatest player to ever play the game of baseball: Willie Mays. Most of my autograph collection is filled with Brewers memorabilia since I'm from Milwaukee, and that's my team. The other portion of my collection is Hall of Fame baseball autographs, and I never would have imagined I would have the opportunity to get Mays.I have my own philosophy on getting autographs. I have to meet the player in person. I don't do private signings. There is something more special about the experience when you meet the player. I'm not an ebayer...I've never sold an autograph that I've obtained. So, being from Milwaukee, I thought that would rule out ever getting players like Hank Aaron, Sandy Koufax, etc. Of course Aaron will always be my #1 wish. That's the Milwaukee boy in me, but Mays is a pretty good second don't you think? I'll definitely post the picture of the autograph once it comes.
So welcome to this blog. Please feel free to comment on anything and share your own autograph experiences...even if they relate or not.
